Christmas Morning at the Chesnuts begins at 7 am. The kids have gathered outside Mom and Dad's door, waiting for the precise moment to wake Dad up. Austin creeps in and is inches from Dad's face, when Dad suddenly SNORTS!!! and scares Austin -- all had a good laugh!
Usually there is a teenager or older child who thinks they are just too cool for christmas and opts to stay in bed. This year, however, everyone decided to wake up and open presents together. (Wouldn't you know it -- it's the year when Santa has been working with a smaller budget, and there's really nothing terribly exciting under the tree.)
Still, everyone seemed reasonably content. Erik got a music theory book and a gift card to Barnes and Noble, and a 3 ft. Spongebob fishing pole from Matthew. Erinn got a coat and a sweater from Abbie. Ryan got a car payment. Matthew got rollerskates and Cars pajamas. Abbie got a doll highchair and "office supplies". Rachelle got webkins and boots. Mike got a Kingdom hearts game and Austin got a computer game called Spore. Steve got a new watch from Erinn, and I got a new slow cooker (I really needed it!) from Erinn also. And we got Olive Garden gift cards from Camille so we can go out to eat when Steve is in town.
By 7:30 am, all the presents were unwrapped. By 8am, most of the family had gone back to bed.

Ahhh!too many presents!
