Rites of passage.
This time it is Erik who
donns the suit and tie,
stands in front of the house
with his best buddy,
David Nelson, both looking
as macho as they can while
Mom manages the camera
and marvels at how her
young man is growing up.
His first formal dance,
with flowers for a special friend.
Wasn't this boy once a tiny
little elf with a wrinkled forehead
boasting all of 6 pounds,
plus 14 ounces?
Once again we see the miracle
"and out of small things
proceedeth that which is great".
